We believe that every member has a ministry in God’s church.
The Bible makes it very clear that following Jesus means actively serving the church in which He has placed us. It is an incredible privilege and joy to be called to serve Jesus with the gifts and abilities He has given us. It isn’t about filling gaps in rotas, but finding the space in which you have been uniquely equipped to glorify Jesus and serve His people.
Below you will find information about the variety of teams and ministries we have in the church. If you would like to join a team, we’d love to help you identify your gifts and find your place.
Find out more about the variety of teams at Pinhoe Road Baptist Church. Each team has different procedures for joining, with some requiring membership, training, auditions, a DBS check and safeguarding training.
There are so many opportunities to take part and serve God!

Making an impression matters! The welcome team provides the first and last smile we see on a Sunday. Welcome also plays a vital role in keeping our church safe and secure on Sunday mornings.
-
The refreshments team makes church feel like home; an extension of our welcome team. Of course, church can happen without refreshments, but it’s just not the same if there isn’t coffee and biscuits!
-
Without the tech team Sunday morning would look very different. With a heart for worship, service and IT, the tech team are a backbone of our Sunday worship experience in house and online.
-
The Worship Team lead us in worshipping God every Sunday, using a selection of contemporary and traditional songs. A mix of singers and musicians provide a rich musical input to our worship.
-
The prayer team provides a place to respond to what God is saying through his word on a Sunday morning, but also to seek him for direction or input on life as it happens.
-
From 0-16, Sunday and midweek, at church and in homes, we engage in a variety of different ways with Children’s, Youth and Families work. If you have a heart and a calling to work in these areas, there is space for you.

We believe that the Church is the body of believers in Jesus, rather than a building. We have been blessed with premises that can be used as a resource and a witness to the work of the church. The running of the premises depends on a team with an eye for the safe and practical upkeep and operation of the buildings as a witness to the community.
-
This team requires people with a heart for community and a capacity for hosting and/or facilitating. If you’d love to open your home, or lead people in growing together through bible study, prayer and fellowship, this team could be for you.
-
Mission is at the heart of the Great Commission, with Jesus sending his followers to the ends of the earth. We engage with local missions workers and organisations, as well as being connected with mission around the world.
-
Whilst some pastoral care is delivered through Life Groups, our pastoral care team help provide special care, including offering meals, visiting, prayer and Communion.

Having fun together is a priority! Through church lunches, social nights, beach trips and special events, the events team help create community and connection for our church family and wider relationships.
