Gentle & Lowly- Able to Sympathise
As we continue the exploration of Jesus's gentle and lowly heart, this week we focussed on the depth of Christ's compassion for His people. Drawing from Hebrews 4:14-5:2, we reflected on how Jesus "co-suffers" with us, experiencing our struggles not as a distant observer but as an intimate companion who has faced similar temptations. George drew our attention to how Jesus takes our suffering personally, and while remaining pure and holy, reaches into our deepest pits of despair and sin, offering not condemnation but gentle restoration (Psalm 103:4). This tender mercy isn't just for accidental sins but extends to our willful rebellion, though George clarified that this gentleness is specifically for the repentant heart. George concluded with a call for believers to cast aside their doubts about being "too broken" and embrace the transformative joy that comes from accepting Jesus's extended hand of grace and mercy.
